Teaching material to understand the information society

In prevision of the World Summit on the information society (WSIS), which
will take place in Geneva in December, four swiss organizations - Swiss
Coalition of Development Organizations, Bread for all, Catholic Lenten
Fund
and The Berne Declaration - in collaboration with the Foundation Education
and Development, have prepared teaching material for schools and students.

The goal: help students to develop a critical thought about the situation
and problems of information and communication in a globalized world. Among
the topics discussed are the digital divide, Internet ethics, Internet
security and personal data protection, the critic of sources, the risks of
cultural standardization or pollution by the TICs.

The sheet proposes study material, a basic do***entation, as well as
teaching activities and ideas and a lot of complementary resources (texts,
links, images).

The sheet can be download free on the web and is intended for students
between 13 and 18 years. It can be found the organizations' website or
