Gossamer Books LLC Commemorates the 200th Anniversary of the Lewis &
Clark Expedition
Educational graphic novel on the adventures of Lewis & Clark to be
released in April 2005

Gossamer Books LLC announces the launch of their educational graphic
novel, "Pacific Bound: The Adventures of Lewis & Clark" (ISBN
0-9742502-5-2) in April 2005 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of
the Lewis & Clark expedition. With the educational graphic novel genre
increasingly getting accepted as a supplement to children's
literature, "Pacific Bound: The Adventures of Lewis & Clark", written
by Lauri Olsen, takes this genre to narrate the story of Lewis &
Clark's expedition to the Pacific Ocean.

"Pacific Bound: The Adventures of Lewis & Clark" follows the story of
Corps of Discovery led by Merewether Lewis and William Clark along with
his faithful dog Seaman over the next two years. During this period,
the Corps of Discovery travel thousands of miles, experience new lands,
rivers and people. The production team took two years of exhaustive
research and planning to create the meticulously crafted landscape
illustrations and a historically relevant story.

The novel is carefully mapped to the U.S. Department of Education's
national standards for teaching U.S. History. It is painstakingly
researched to create an accurate account of the events and incidents as
they occurred in history to generate interest of grade-schoolers in key
historical themes specified by national and state educational
guidelines. This book will be a useful resource for librarians and
teachers at K-12 educational levels.

Gossamer Books has also released some highly interactive and educative
lesson plans based on the Lewis & Clark expedition that can be
downloaded free of cost from their official website

Angel Oberoi, President, and founder of Gossamer Books LLC commented,
"This is the third novel in the series of first two successful novels
by Gossamer Books. Keeping the earlier tradition of historical accuracy
and elaborate illustrations intact, this novel is a visual delight for
the school-going kids and adults alike".

The educational graphic novel can be ordered from BWI, Baker & Taylor,
and Brodart. For further information on the novel, contact
