Hunter was like this so I know what you are talking about.

That is unlikely if you follow the rules of safe co-sleeping.  No alcohol
before bed, firm mattress, no puffy bedding or pillows around baby.

This will happen.  From what I've read on these groups and in real life
most
people find that they are able to make a fairly easy transition somewhere
between 6-12 months.  Hunter is an outlyer in that he did not make this
transition until closer to 4 - years :-)  Sleeping with a toddler is
easier
then sleeping with a baby though.
