Hi there! Well, I'm going through hell right now...
My wife is 27-yo and 17 weeks pregnant. Last week her blood test (quad
screen) came back high risk of down syndrome (1 in 60). Doctor
recomended Level 2 U/S which we did yesterday. Another doctor found a
spot in the heart, and said that the technitian sort of kind of could
see echogenic bowels, but when he took a look at it again, he
couldn't. He also said that there is too much fluid in the womb (not
the neck fluid stuff, rather the one baby floats in). He said that
brings the risk up to 1 in 30. Faced with the information, wife and I
decided to do the amino (where they take some of the fluids from
around the baby). Should have the results in 2 weeks. Everything else
looked good. Head, nose, neck, kidneys, length or arms and legs, all
looked good.
We're both 27-yo and this is out first baby boy. We're scared.
Has anyone gone through this?
I mean we do have a 96% chance of baby being totally healthy. But
still, you can't help but to worry.
