   I can't believe any person with normal intelligence would even think of

leaving an 18 month old child alone in a hotel room.  You would never
forgive 
yourself if something happened to your child while you were out having
dinner or 
  partying.  If you can't watch your child 24/7 (or obtain the services of
a 
competent babysitter), perhaps you need to change your plans.
