Toddler sleeping in a tent

by "Laurie" <mugsymo@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 17, 2003 at 02:32 AM

We just got this really cool indoor tent for Jessica, which has a firm air
mattress for a bottom. It's basically like a play house made out of tent
material. She absolutely adores the thing. We started thinking that it
may
be the perfect way of seeing if she's ready for the transition from crib
to
bed, and in fact she has asked to sleep in it. I've hesitated though,
since
i have this nagging fear that it may not be safe. Honestly it seems
completely safe, it has an air bed mattress and air frames all almost like
a
moonwalk, with a tent that covers the air frame. She can, however, reach
up
and pull the ceiling down. There are 2 "windows" in the ceiling and 2
more
in the front of the house. Would you guys consider this to be a danger?
I
have heard of toddler beds that are actually made like a tent, so I'm not
sure. Also, would it be a bad idea for her to sleep on an air mattress,
even a firm one, for an extended period of time?
