....Or, she might not.

My five year old is so damned stubborn that my MIL, who taught school 
for 25 years, has declared her the most stubborn child she's ever met in 
her life.  And while she's somewhat more compliant for other adults than 
for us, like most children, I HAVE seen her absolutely refuse to follow 
the instructions of other authority figures also.


Like at the pool recently, with her swim teachers, from a position she 
didn't know I was watching.  She up and decided she's not putting her 
face in the water.  And is currently so stubborn about it that after she 
passed Level I swimming a week and a half ago, and spending a week in 
Level II...starting this week again at Level II they had to put her back 
in Level I...all because she got water up her nose once and has since 
refused to comply with any instruction that involves her head in the 
water, period.  They can't cajole or convince her like with most 
children, she just refuses.
